Tomasz Greczylo: 1. The University of Wrocław has a rich history of more than three centuries. Founded by Leopold I Habsburg the university evolved from a modest school run by Jesuits into one of the biggest academic institutions in Poland.
Division of Physics Teaching a part of Institute of Experimental Physics is of didactic character. Some of its aims are: creation of physics teaching standards, education of students - prospective teachers - in pedagogical and didactic subjects, as well as in-service training of active teachers. Some of examined problems are:
- Modernization of physics teaching curricula in gymnasium, secondary schools and universities.
- Computer based physics teaching (numerical modeling of physical processes).
- Elaboration of the conceptions and improvement of professional training of prospective teachers in physics didactics and pedagogy.
- The role of history and methodology of science in physics teacher education.
2. Role of the participant organization in the proposed project matches very well with division’s subjects of interest. Based on the project outcomes modernization of Physics curricula may be introduced in Poland through the Division. Also uses of modern technology as Data Acquisition, Data Video, Modeling which are strongly drawn on in the proposed project are main subjects of our work. The project allows use of Division’s workers experience and encourages taking advantage of our strong skills in the area. We may work on Data Video subject as well as take responsibilities for preparing support materials for students, teachers, and educators.
3. Ewa Dębowska – Vice Dean of the Faculty, Supervisor of the Division, Possessing great knowledge of conceptions in professional training of prospective teachers related to physics didactics and pedagogy.
Tomasz Greczyło – Experience in use of Data Acquisition, Data Video, Modeling tools. Great abilities in group work as well as group leader skills. Proficiency in using computer and web resources. Knowledge of html, php and mySQL.
